- The staff selection commission (SSC) conducs the Multi-tasking staff(MTS) exam to recruit canidates for various non-technical posts in central government departments and offices.it is an entry-level government jon for candiate whho have passed class 10(Matriculation).

- PAY LEVEL: level 1 in the 7th CPC pay Matrix
- BASIC PAY : 21000rs per month(starting)
- GRADE PAY : not applicable under 7th CPC ; incorporated in pay level
- DEARNESS ALLOWANCE(DA): As per government rules (revised quarterly)
- HOUSE RENT ALLOWANCE (HRA) : Depends on city of posting.
- 24% of basic pay in metro cities 16% in other cities
- TRAVEL ALLOWANCE(TA): Provided as per government norms .
- GROSS SALARY : Approximately rs30,000-32,000 per month initially(varies by location and allowances)
